Flickr has a new project underway where its members get the opportunity to describe (i.e. tag) public photo collections. The project is called The Commons and for the pilot, Flickr has partnered with the Library of Congress and is featuring two collections by the organization. It’s an excellent idea and, assuming the project is a success, I expect other organizations to join in on the fun. Photo by Howard R. Hollem.
